Magenta are a 4-piece modern rock covers band with the soft edge of a female vocalist. We formed about 5 years ago and are currently gigging around the Hampshire/Dorset area.

We have a wide variety of musical influences ranging from Radiohead, Kings of Leon, Killers, Razorlight, Foo Fighters, Pink, Green Day and also the old stuff - Led Zepplin, AC/DC etc.

We tend to do what we want to do music-wise and hopefully the crowd like that. We like learning up to date stuff (that's when we can get a band practise together!!!) so we can play it when it's current. That doesnt mean we've turned our back on the old stuff though!

We will NEVER be a band who play Mustang Sally!!!

06.01.10 - Unfortunately, due to the extremely bad weather, we are having to cancel our date at the Old Mill this Friday. We are hoping we will get back in there soon.

2010 - MAGENTA WILL BE TAKING SOME TIME OUT THIS YEAR so if you can, try and catch us in January/February with our last gig for the year (maybe coming back towards the end of the year) probably being at the Firehouse on 19th February.

28.09.09 - We now have a new date for The Holbury - Saturday 7th November.

09.09.09 ***WE WILL BE PLAYING THE OLD MILL THIS FRIDAY 11th SEPTEMBER***

06.08.09 - Unfortunately we've had to cancel our date at the Holbury this Saturday due to ill health, but will hopefully rearrange another date there soon.

20.07.09 - NEW DATES ADDED - We have two further dates back at the Firehouse, Southampton in October and December - can't Wait!!

09.07.09 - NEW DATE ADDED - We will be back at the Roebuck, Marchwood on Saturday 18th July.

25.06.09 - We are in the process of getting business cards printed up for anyone who comes to see us and wants to book us!! Look out for these as hopefully we'll have some by the Firehouse gig!

24.06.09 - Times for Lymington Festival have been confirmed. We will be playing the last slot in the day at 5 p.m. (venue - Grove Gardens, Lymington) Music is all day so come on down. (have a look on Lymington Arts Festival website and see what else is going on)

June 2009 - We are currently in the process of getting a new poster out and getting rid of our rather poor effort which we have been using for the last few years!! You can see our new poster (designed by a very talented person we know) on our contact page, and we shall be using it as of now, so keep your eyes open!!

17.06.09 - We will be participating in the first Lymington Arts Festival to take place at the beginning of July. We shall be on the main stage at a time to be confirmed on Saturday 4th July.

12.06.09 - We have just confirmed a new venue at The Firehouse, Southampton on Saturday 11th July, so please come along and see us there!!
